Been a long time between blog posts. I've also been very slack on my Facebook account, hardly use Twitter and don't even mention Instagram. Not that I don't enjoy social media, I do, I really do! But... I'm more of a browser, a scroller, a quiet liker than an interactive user and that's basically because I can't imagine that anyone would really want to know what I'm thinking doing, reading, watching etc. but then perhaps people do, since I am one of those people that love reading about what other people are doing, thinking etc.
Anyhow...I'm back and plan on giving my little website here a much needed makeover! Stay tuned for more of that but in the meantime here is an update on what I have been up to. 1. Working on a couple of YA titles. I love YA. I originally started out writing YA (you can read my YA novel Time After Time here) but somehow merged into writing new adult novels. I think because I wanted to open the bedroom door and show more 'romance' between my couples that is simply not appropriate in the young adult genre. Don't get me wrong, I love writing gritty, coming of age novels but there is something about the innocence, the confusion and the development of character that I love in YA. So I went back to a few half finished, badly written manuscripts and for the past few months have been going over them. One is a paranormal fairy/demon romance that I love, even though the genre has been done to death thanks to the early millennium Twilight obsession, a second is a contemporary romance set in the world of reality television and the third is a time travel romance that links back to the sixteen hundreds. Three very different stories but three which I all loved writing. Stay tuned for more news on them (or you can check out Entwined here) 2. I've also started a short story series. These have been fun to write! Short, sharp, sassy, sexy with a bit of angst thrown in for good measure. You see more of what's coming in the Ink Addicted novella series here. 3. Life. I've been busy with life which includes my hubby, three teenage sons (honestly, I think teenagers are more demanding in some ways that toddlers) and work. I work as a relief (substitute if you are reading this in the states) teacher and whilst I don't have the responsibilities of a regular teacher I find that I'm just as exhausted at the end of the day and my mind is too overwhelmed to write much. I'm hoping as the year progresses that changes as I miss the rush of writing! 4. Getting fit. This is something I am quite passionate about. I've always been fit, fairly healthy and have never really had a weight problem. But being over forty (ahem) I'm conscious of staying in the best shape as possible for as long as I can so I've set myself a few health and fitness goals this year that I am determined to achieve. One is running a half marathon later in the year so I have been busy running, training for that. I will blog more about this journey later for those interested. So that's me lately! Hopefully my next blog post isn't far away.... bye for now Andi xxx
