It's Friday where I share all things that I am loving this week! 1.I read this book this week and I LOVED IT!!! Megan Jacobson has done a gorgeous job of capturing life in the Northern Territory of Australia in her second book, The Build Up Season. I could hear the mosquito's buzzing as I read, feel the humidity and hear the draw of the Aussie accent which at times seemed way stronger than my own :) I plan on writing a more detailed book review in the near future so right now I'll just leave it as a MUST READ recommendation as number one on what I am loving this week. 2.The Bachelor Australia.... Confession. I don't actually watch a lot of television but when I do I tend to choose the trashiest, most indulgent shows to lose myself in. The Bachelor is one such show. It has drama, fighting, kissing, eye rolling, cringe worthy moments and that's just the rose ceremony. This years Bachelor is pretty cute and I love that he has wholesome ideals - a nice wife and family - and I hope he finds true love. My money is on Elise, who's a dark horse coming up on the outside. 3.Pinterest writing tips. Over the years I have bought lots of books on writing, publishing and the craft and industry. I have filled notebooks in with character profiles and lists of positive and negative features and even sketched faces. What I am really enjoying is the wealthy of resources on Pinterest. How I can create a character profile without it taking up a lot of time which just detracts from the actual writing of the novel. I will share my spreadsheet in another post but for now I would say I am loving browsing all the great writing resources on Pinterest. 4.I have three teenage boys. Yay me!! And I mean that in a very non sarcastic way, although I never thought I would. I'm a girlie girl and growing up I never in a million years would have imagined that I would be the mother of sons...and only sons. But life has a funny way of giving you want you need and in my case I needed to be surrounded by three (four including hubby) strong, and very different, males. My middle son is the one who has got me rocking out this week. He is a mad rock fan, loves everything from Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Metallica, Green Day, Wolfmother...anything with a band, music that is not 'produced' he's there. For his birthday this year (he turned 15) we bought him a record player and he loves scouring second hand stores and JB Hifi for albums that he plays in his room old school style. And he's currently loving Foo Fighters...hence to am I! They have a new album and tickets for their 2018 tour of Australia go on sale next week and *fingers crossed* we will be there! 5.I have no explanation for this. I have been going so great with my eating habits, drinking loads of water and exercising daily. I go to the gym, I joined a running group and on Saturday do the 5km park run. I practice yoga pretty much daily...all good! Except for these damn donuts. I can't stop. They make me happy. I can't aplogise for this.
