Star Struck will be published mid year with Liquid Silver Books. In the meantime I thought I would share an excerpt from the contemporary romance featuring Jagger Arch from international rock band Psyche Dreams. I hope you enjoy it!
I looked up the stairs to see Jag coming down the steps towards me. He wore jeans that he must have hastily pulled on and that was all. His chest was bare and his hair was all tousled. Unlike Ash he didn’t look drunk or high and he didn’t look like he’d been up the whole night fucking these girls either. Not that I knew what that would look like.
‘What are you doing here?’ he asked now, stopping before me. More stubble grazed his draw and his eyes were dark and unreadable.
‘I – ah – I came to see you,’ I glanced nervously at the half naked girls who were watching us with interest.
He nodded and then jerked his head to one side, ‘C’mon we can go in here.’
I followed him, not looking at the girls as he led me into the same garden room I’d been in before. Lots of floral cushions and green plants, huge windows overlooking the gardens. He closed the door behind me with a soft click.
Suddenly I didn’t know what to say. Or what to do. I hadn’t really planned this or thought this through. I’d thought I had, staying awake all night long, thinking and imagining, remembering. I thought I knew what I wanted from him but now, standing in front of him, I had no idea.
So I said nothing. I just stared at him.
The air around us thickened. He stood about three feet from me and I couldn’t decide if that was a massive, insurmountable distance or whether it was unnervingly close. His messy hair stuck out in all directions and there were the slightest creases on his face. He must have been deeply asleep when Ash woke him I realised.
‘Aria?’ he prompted.
‘How are you?’ I asked suddenly and stupidly.
He arched an eyebrow and his eyes twinkled a little with amusement. ‘I’m good. A little tired since I didn’t get to sleep until late and have been woken up earlier than usual.’
‘Oh. I’m sorry.’
‘Aria,’ he said gently, ‘you didn’t come all this way to ask me how I was.’
‘No,’ I shook my head, ‘I came to…’ my voice trailed off, unsure and I started at the carpeted floor.
He bent his knees to look up and meet my eyes. ‘Yes?’
‘The girls…’ I said and then flushed. It was none of my business and I had no right to ask. Jag could do as he pleased and he hadn’t done anything wrong. But still I needed to know…
‘Ash’s,’ he told me smoothly, ‘both of them. I promise.’
I nodded and believe him. I wanted to believe him and it was very easy. It was something I had already known but still…there was that seed of doubt.
‘Aria?’ he said again, his voice very quiet, ‘you didn’t come all this way to ask me about the girls.’
I shook my head. No. that was not why I came.
I opened my mouth to speak and then closed it. And then I moved.
In just two strides I was right in front of him and my hands just had to reach up and grab his face, the stubble on his jaw scratching my hands as I pulled his face down to mine, pressed my lips against his.
He was warm, still sleepy, and tasted musky and sweet at the same time. His lips were plump and soft and at first I felt his shock, he went completely still, but then as I continued to kiss him I felt him slowly begin to respond. My mouth slanted against his, forcing his open so that our tongues could tangle together. Strong hands gripped my shoulders, hauling me up onto my tippy toes and then slid down my back, crushing him to me so that all I could feel the hardness of his body. I let my own hands move then too, tracing over the sharp contours of his chest and shoulders, marvelling at the hard curve to his bicep muscles and the dip in his lower back. His skin was smooth and hard and soft at the same time. And warm, he was incredibly warm like he had his own internal heater.
His hands cupped my face, holding me in place as he took control of the kiss. Licking my bottom lip and sucking it into his mouth. He slowed the kiss right down so that I could feel every flicker of his tongue, every brush of his lip, every warm breathe against mine right down to the very core of me.
I felt as if I would melt, disappear into a pool of desire if not for his firm hands gripping me and my own clutching at his shoulders. My heart raced and I felt the world around us disappear as I lost myself in him.
‘Aria,’ he muttered after a long moment, breaking the kiss and pressing his forehead to mine.
I nodded, even though he hadn’t said anything and hadn’t asked any questions.
bye for now
