Today on the blog I'm sharing my favourites for the past week.
Fairies & Demons
For the last week I have been knee deep in edits for Entwined and have also begun working on the second book in the series, Enchanted. So everything has been pretty much about angels, faeries and demons. I've been researching different types of faeries, faerie names, demons and legends - some of which I plan to share with you in the next few weeks. I think I'm even starting to dream about faeries and demons.
Okay, so I am an avid instragrammer - my personal account is full of happy snaps of my kids, selfies with friends and food and drink from mine and hubbies date night. But I have somehow, weirdly, strangely or maybe because I was perusing the wrong sights, but I have only just discovered #bookstagram. I am seriously in love.... I cannot stop browsing through this hash tag and have some serious book envy going on! If you are like me and haven't discovered #bookstagram check it out now. And you can also follow along on my instagram account here.
Atypical dropped to Netflix Australia only last week (I think). If you haven't checked it out I highly recommend checking out this tv series about an 18 year old boy on the Autism spectrum who decides he wants to date. The main character is a little remiscent of Sheldon Cooper and obsessed with penguins and Antarctica. If you loved Sheldon Coopers character then you will love this. It has some humurous moments as well as some touching ones and I am loving it right now.
On that note I would also recommend reading The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion, which has been written in the same vein as Atypical.
Okay so it is not quite spring yet - we still have another official week of winter here in Australia - but I can feel it in the air. The days are longer, the sun is warmer and there is the hint of blossoming flowers in the air. Spring in Australia, and in particular Western Australia, means wildflowers and I am hoping to take a trip in the next few weeks when they really start blossoming. Spring also means that summer is just around the corner as well as Christmas - yay! - and Australian summers are the best :)
I seriously can't stop listening to Shawn Mendes right now. His songs are awesome and are on permanent rotation in the house, in the car and when I'm at the gym. We've got tickets to see him in December when he tours Australian and I CANNOT WAIT!!
Would love to know what you are watching, listening, reading, loving or looking forward to right now!
Bye for now,
You may have noticed something different about my website....maybe a strange addition to my BOOKS tab? Maybe a book written by another author, Wendy Godding.
Yep. Wendy Godding is me and Time After Time was my debut novel that came out in 2014 with Escape Publishing.
Time After Time was also the very first manuscript I completely finished, loved, and submitted to agents/publishers for publishing. I simply adore gothic melodrama's and stories that are linked through time and place - hello Outlander :) And I tried really hard to capture the elements of romance between Abbie and Marcus and also the romance of the Yorkshire Moors in that story.
But that doesn't explain why I have two pen names. Well soon, I hope to write under just one. I originally wrote Time After Time and it was a young adult novel. It is suitable for all age levels and the heat level would be described as 'sweet'. When I started writing steamier romances I wanted to keep the two brands separate and so I began writing under Andi Bremner. But two names equals too much work for me and so, with Entwined - another ya romance - coming out in the name of Andi Bremner I have decided to combine the two. I also have a couple more ya romances in the pipeline so it makes sense to just have it all combined in one place. And really, the heat levels in my new adult are steamy but not 'too steamy'. Enough to make you blush just a little :)
So for those of you new to my ya novels please have a look at Time After Time, which will show you a little of the writing style you will expect to see in Entwined.
bye for now
